メキシコの首都メキシコシティでは、新しい複合施設「Neuchâtel Cuadrante Polanco」の建設が進められている。モビリティ、アート、アーバニズム、デザイン、効率性、コミュニティに焦点を当てた施設で、通りや広場、公共エリアなど、すべてが結びつくメキシコシティの新しい都市コミュニティになるという。

そのなかでも注目されるのが、この都市の住民の生活向上を目指して、ラテンアメリカで初めてとなるAIアート作品「Eye of Mexico」がエリア中心部の広場に設置されることである。

キュレーションを手がけるのはカナダ・モントリオールに拠点を置くクリエイティブ・エージェンシー MASSIVartで、トルコ・イスタンブールのメディアアート・スタジオ Ouchhhが制作。アートをより身近に体験してもらうことで、文化的なインパクトを生み出すことが目的だそうだ。

このインスタレーションは、メキシコシティの住民の移動方法に関するデータをもとにして、オーディオ・ビジュアル的に表現。アートやサイエンス、テクノロジー、アーバニズムやモビリティの間にある関係性を観る人に伝えるとしている。

作品は2022年5月19日（木）に完成する予定で、MASSIVartの創設パートナーでクリエイティブ・ディレクターのPhilippe Demersは「『Eye of Mexico』は、この複合施設の躍動感を体現するもので、モビリティの未来へと私たちを誘う入口を暗示しています」とコメントしている。
